Top Tips - How to make the most of VisitScotland Connect 2026

We've put together some recommendations for making the most of your time at VisitScotland Connect 2026. These include:

Pre-event

  • prepare thoroughly
  • update your company profile so suppliers can identify who you are and what you offer
  • put time aside as soon as the meeting diary becomes available to ensure you are maximising your time at VisitScotland Connect and securing plenty of pre-arranged appointments
  • manage your diary regularly as the event draws close, including accepting or declining appointments promptly
  • let our VisitScotland Market Managers help you with suggestions for supplier meetings, especially if you are new to Scotland product development or looking to add something new to your existing programmes

During event

  • bring your own water bottle -  water coolers will be available at the venue and tea and coffee will be supplied during breaks
  • prepare thoroughly and dress accordingly for your business meetings
  • please remember to mute your mobile phone during meetings
  • use the first couple of minutes of the meeting to introduce yourself, your business, and your clientele, and then allow 3-4 minutes at the end of the 12-minute meeting to summarise the discussion and next steps
  • do not underestimate the opportunity of “touching base” conversations – relationship building is the core of future collaboration
  • make the most of networking opportunities during unscheduled meeting time slots
  • use the VisitScotland Connect 2026 app to connect with other attendees, take notes, check your meeting diary, export contacts and more

Post event

  • make sure you follow up with your contacts as soon as possible upon returning home
  • export contacts from the app so that you can get in touch with businesses
  • complete our post-event survey so you can share your feedback and help us shape future events
