JUDGING

The Scottish Thistle Awards are awards for the industry, judged by the industry. A number of independent industry experts make up our judging panel, each with specific knowledge relating to different sectors of the industry.

Our judges review and independently score each entry before coming together for moderation to discuss the entries in more detail. At this point in the process, they will draw upon the evidence provided against each criteria and conduct further verification, site visits and interviews in order to complete the challenging task of agreeing a shortlist and winner for each region. The same rigorous process will be followed when determining our national winners.   

Scottish Thistle Awards judges are recruited based on their experience within the tourism industry and knowledge of Scotland’s unique offerings across a number of sectors. We strive to achieve a good regional spread and sector representation across the judging panel.
