SUSTAINABILITY

VisitScotland’s approach to developing responsible tourism in Scotland focuses on four priority areas:

  • supporting Scotland’s transition to a low carbon economy
  • ensuring tourism and events in Scotland are inclusive
  • ensuring tourism and events contribute to thriving communities
  • supporting the protection and considerate enjoyment of Scotland’s natural and cultural heritage

Responsible activity is a key priority for Scotland's National Events Conference, not only across programming and content, but also in the delivery of the event itself and the selection of the venue.

The conference spaces at the Technology and Innovation Centre are accessible, and their friendly, professional team is on-hand to offer directions, assistance and advice.

  • there is level access to the building (Level 2 is the ground floor), with lift access available to all floors
  • all Auditoria have wheelchair spaces for those unable to transfer into a seat
  • all Auditoria and Conference Rooms are fitted with induction loops
  • there are accessible/gender-neutral toilets on all floors, which are clearly signposted
  • there are designated safe areas throughout the building for any delegates unable to evacuate using stairs in the event of an emergency situation
