Penny Dougherty is co-owner of Unique Events Scotland’s leading independent events and festivals event creators and producers. With over 30 years’ theatre and events management experience Penny specializes in delivering high-profile, time or location specific events and national celebrations.

Penny has delivered many of Scotland’s signature events and is Festival Director of Edinburgh’s Winter Festival (Edinburgh’s Christmas celebrations and Edinburgh’s Hogmanay New Year festival) through Unique Assembly.

With strategic knowledge and operational experience across Unique’s diverse portfolio, she helps creators turn their dreams into reality with a host of practical skills and a wealth of experience creating special one-off events and “money-can’t-buy” experiences.

As Senior Producer and Project Lead Penny works with a range of stakeholders, public agencies and event partners, leading the planning and operational implementation of large-scale events including resilience planning, arranging complex Contingency Insurance cover where required. She is often Event Organiser Gold or Silver lead working within the recognized multi-agency command structure, taking on the roles of strategic lead or tactical control depending on the event size, status, and needs.
