Neil Christison has been with VisitScotland for 11 years, holding a variety of industry and consumer-facing roles. He currently serves as Regional Director for Edinburgh and the Lothians within VisitScotland’s Industry and Events Directorate, where he leads efforts to grow and sustain the visitor economy responsibly. In this role, Neil works closely with tourism partners across the region, including local authorities, destination organisations, and event and festival organisers. His remit also involves working with a wide range of stakeholders on strategic initiatives affecting the visitor economy, while advocating for a continued focus on tourism development. Neil supports the development and delivery of projects in partnership with the six local authorities within the Regional Prosperity Framework, the regional economic strategy for Edinburgh and South East Scotland.
