Craig Morris, Team Leader, Scottish Government's Major Events Division
Craig Morris is a Team Leader in the Scottish Government’s Major Events Division, working collaboratively across government and with a wide range of external partners with a view to ensuring that Scotland’s major and mega events deliver meaningful social and economic benefits. This includes working with partners to consider and progress investment decisions for Scotland’s pipeline of event opportunities.
Craig has worked in the public sector for more than 20 years, with the vast majority of that time spent in the Scottish Government. Prior to joining Major Events Division he undertook a range of posts in the education and children & young people portfolios, as well as on an internal change programme.
Craig has been part of the Major Events Division for more than eight years, supporting successful organisation and delivery of significant events for Scotland, including the 2019 Solheim Cup and the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
Craig’s team has lead Scottish Government responsibility for Scotland’s portfolio of professional golf events, the social impact programme for the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ and the events pipeline.
