INCLUSIVE TOURISM AWARD

Our ambition for Scottish Tourism is to make holidays in Scotland accessible with equal access to all tourism opportunities. This award celebrates a business, who understands the inclusive tourism market and has developed a programme or service which can be enjoyed by all, including people with a visible or hidden disability. The activity timeframe being judged for this award is recognised as being one of the most challenging ever, for the tourism industry, therefore the award will recognise and celebrate the business who has gone that extra mile to remain inclusive and retain engagement with disabled people through this difficult period and beyond.

Who Should Enter:
This award is for any tourism businesses who set the standard for inclusive tourism practices and can serve as an example to the tourism industry, by emphasising their inclusion ethos, who demonstrates a commitment to quality information provision and excellent customer service.

Some examples of inclusive practices would include:

  • A commitment to training frontline staff in equality and disability awareness
  • Providing facilities and services designed for different customer groups e.g. autism or dementia friendly tours or quality accommodation which is accessible to disabled people including wheelchair users.

What the Judges are Looking For:
Judges will be looking for clear evidence within the time period from Oct 2019 - Sept 2020.  Full entry criteria/guidance can be found for each question using the "? Open Help" section above each question on the entry form.
