With over 12 years in the Sports Marketing and Commercial industry across rugby and golf, Maria’s focus shifted to sustainability in the world of sport in 2021, developing the European Tour group and Ryder Cup Europe’s “Golf for Good” strategies. This focuses on three programmes tackling social and environmental challenges within the golf industry: The Golf for the Disabled Tour (9 annual events); Golf Futures (community & education outreach) and Green Drive, steering the Tour to become the first professional golf Tour to join the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework with a commitment of net zero by 2040.
