Chris Greenwood works as the operational head of the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development at Glasgow Caledonian University, where they regularly deliver commercial tourism consultancy projects and undertake academic research across a range of tourism disciplines. With extensive experience in tourism research, they're passionate about responsible and sustainable tourism development and measurement and impact of policy and strategy within the visitor economy.
Chris Greenwood has been monitoring and interpreting trends in Scottish Tourism for over 18 years. Currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development within Glasgow Caledonian University, Chris has a broad knowledge base which supports insight into a range of areas from economics to the environment. Formally within the research department at VisitScotland, the national tourist board, he has developed, monitored and contributed to numerous strategies and national policies including the latest national strategy “Scotland Outlook 2030”. Chris has been invited to speak at several events and conferences on subjects ranging from tourism statistics and performance to sector trends, responsible and sustainable tourism development and the future of tourism.
