Events Industry Development Webinar:

Playbook for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in Festival & Events

Scotland’s updated national events strategy, Scotland The Perfect Stage 2024 – 2035, highlights the development of inclusive events as a strategic priority for the sector.

The Playbook For Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in Festivals & Events was launched by the Centre for Culture, Sport and Events at University of the West of Scotland in 2024. It provides a guide for those people responsible for planning, organising and delivering festivals and events of different sizes and types to ensure they are reflective of good equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles and practices.

It focuses on four key dimensions for festival and event organisers when considering EDI:
•    representation
•    design and programming
•    governance and resourcing
•    evaluating success

It highlights comprehensively how festival and event organisers can factor all four into their planning and delivery.

This webinar will take place on Microsoft Teams and be led by the authors of the Playbook, Professor Gayle McPherson and Professor David McGillivray from the University of West of Scotland. They will talk through their research into the Playbook, highlighting along the way the different resources, tips and case studies that have been included to help event organisers. The webinar will also be useful for funders and policy makers.

At the end of the presentation there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

A Microsoft Teams meeting invitation and webinar joining link will be sent to those who Register below.

Date & time:

Wednesday 26 March, 10am-11am.
