Free Climate Action Accelerator Programme for Scottish Tourism & Events businesses, Net Zero Business Development

Have you ever wondered how to develop an action plan to reach net zero, but struggled to get it off the ground?

Perhaps you have started your climate action but are unsure where to go next, or the concepts and terms, such as net zero, climate action, adaptation, or carbon reduction, might be confusing or challenging to navigate during your daily operations. 

The Climate Action Accelerator Programme, delivered by the Climate Springboard, at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI) will kick-start your journey toward net zero, making it relevant for you and your tourism or events business. 

On this programme, you will receive 

  • Expert guidance to help break down the jargon that can be a barrier, delivered via workshops covering a range of actions and activities to help you develop a plan.
  • Support to help you navigate any possible legislative changes. You will also be able to seek advice on navigating green grant applications and funding barriers you may face in the future. 
  • At the end of the programme, you will have developed a benchmark of your carbon emission's and leave having begun a climate action plan to accelerate and guide you into the future.

Estimated Commitment

  • 3 (2.5hour) fortnightly workshops 
  • 1 (1.5 hour) peer to peer learning session
  • Training will be delivered online over a 6 week period.
  • You will be allocated 1-1 clinics with an expert which can be used during or after the programme duration

If offered a place on the programme we will be asking you and your business to commit to attending 3 ( 2.5 hours) fortnightly workshop sessions along with a final 1.5hr peer to peer learning session. Support will be delivered online over a 6 week period. You will be allocated 1-1 clinics with an expert which can be used during or after the programme duration.

The Climate Accelerator Programme will have various start dates and businesses must be able to commit to attending all sessions in the programme. If offered a place, please confirm if you are able to commit to our upcoming cohort

In addition to the sessions businesses will be allocated 1-1 clinics with an expert which can be used during or after the programme duration.

The Climate Accelerator programme will have various start dates (between January and March 2026). Please give an indication of when might be more suitable. Spaces are limited but if accepted we will do our best to accommodate your preference.

Summary

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the terms and conditions by which VisitScotland provides an event platform.

Privacy Notice

  • You are giving your personal data to VisitScotland as the data controller, for the purpose of registering your interest in our Climate Accelerator Programme and for us to send you follow up communications including a feedback form if you are offered a space.  If we want to use the information you provide for a different purpose we will inform you before doing so. 
  • You are being asked to provide your name, email address, job title/role, organisation name, business address, business website address and a telephone number and number of employees. 
  • Should you attend any in person events as part of the programme delivered by VisitScotland or a service provider contracted to VisitScotland, photographs and video may be taken at the event; if you do not wish to be photographed or filmed please inform VisitScotland or the contractor staff at the event. 
  • If you do not provide the information requested we may not be able to fully administer your attendance at the event.    
  • Your personal data will be processed by specialist systems contracted as data processors to VisitScotland as the data controller.  For this event these are:  Microsoft, Bloomreach, Canto and EventsAir. 
  • If approved your data will be shared with the service provider contracted to VisitScotland
  • If approved your data will be held for 3years and 3 months, this will be for the length of the programme plus 3 months, after that time it will be anonymised.
  • If placed on a waiting list your data will be held for 3 years 3 months with the option to be removed and anonymised at any time
  • If declined your data will be anonymised
  • If you have an existing relationship with VisitScotland your personal data will be used to update our records which will be anonymised at the end of your relationship with us.  If you have no existing relationship with VisitScotland your personal data will be held for three months following the event and then securely deleted.  
  • The lawful reason for processing your information is contract. 
    • If you choose to share your contact details with other attendees, the lawful reason is consent. 
  • Your personal data will be processed in the UK and the EU.
